The Shepley Spring Festival is an annual weekend event which has grown in popularity since it began in 2007 and attracts folk music artists from across the world.
Shepley Spring Festival is a celebration of traditional music, dance taking place each May and includes a programme of performances and participatory workshops.
The festival is a volunteer run community event with a large number of people from Shepley and surrounding villages taking an active part. This includes performers (notably Shepley Singers ), a group of volunteer stewards and hosts for festival artists. A carnival daytime programme includes the children’s concert and festival, Morris dancing throughout the village, a food and craft market and a beer festival with live music.
A giant marquee at the Marsh Lane site houses one of three main areas of entertainment throughout the weekend. Events are also hosted across other sites including Cliffe House, St Paul’s Church and Church Hall and the Farmer’s Boy, Black Bull and Sovereign pubs.
