A Warm Welcome from the Catholic Community in Shepley

The Catholic Community in Shepley has celebrated Sunday Mass at St Paul's Church since October 1996 after the former St Monica's Chapel of Ease in Kirkburton closed. St. Paul's was one of several local churches that offered to accommodate us.

They have made us very welcome.

We are part of the parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Huddersfield which has two churches: St Joseph's Aspley and English Martyrs in Dalton.

We are a lively community serving the area of South Huddersfield. Families come just not from Shepley but from all the surrounding villages. During term times, there is a children's liturgy during part of the Mass and Homily.

After Mass, which starts at 9.00am we have coffee and social time where adults can chat and welcome new people whilst their children play.

Some of our members take part in ecumenical services and meeting throughout the year with other churches in the village. We also have regular house group meetings where we discuss a wide range of faith topics in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Parish Priest

Our Parish Priest is Father Steven Billington and Assistant Priest is Father Emmanuel Adindu. They usually alternate each week at Shepley.
