Shepley Library and Information Centre is the pulsing heart of Shepley Village. The library is more than just a knowledge and learning centre, but also a meeting place, digital hub and support centre for local residents, community groups and businesses.
The Library used to be a school house with adjoining classroom. It was here that the Rev Ben Swift Chambers, the founding father of Everton and Liverpool football clubs lived. His father was the village school master. Ben Chambers was a Methodist minister. He is buried in a grave behind the library. It was recently renovated, paid for by the football clubs he founded.
