SVA Chair thanks local community for May Day support

I would like to thank everyone who attended the May Day event, on the Village Green and the Church Hall, yesterday 1st May.

This was truly the Village working together for the Villagers. We were so lucky with the weather in the end and it was so pleasing to see such a huge turnout. The mix of activities on the Green and at the Hall worked well. The mix of the Children taking part in the Maypole dancing with their parents and grandparents watching with the others who enjoyed the music and stalls worked well. I will take the opportunity to say more at the SVA AGM on 9th May (Agenda to be published tomorrow). I will also make a full report in the next issue of the Village Magazine if the Editor is able to make room for me. Lot’s going on in our wider world.

But I do need to say a huge thank you to all those that helped put this together. A lot of work goes into such an event. They know who they are and I will speak to each one personally.

But I must mention one name. Fenne Casey.

Without Fenne’s tireless work ensuring every avenue was covered, before and on the day, this event would not have been the success it became.

Thank you Fenne.
